This is the Class Package -- perfect for carving demonstrations or for a handy stash of pre-cut blocks in a smaller size.

There are 27 small blocks in each pack. Individual block size: 1.5 x 1.5 x .75

The Staedtler MasterCarve block is a smooth, soft medium, probably one of the easiest to slide a gouge through. The "cuts like butter" slogan is pretty accurate. Avoiding undercutting your image is especially important with the softer material in order to maintain stability while printing and the thicker block makes printing a breeze -- fewer inky fingers to worry about! Some artists even carve on both sides.

Tip: Putting the block in the refrigerator for a little while can make detailed areas easier to carve, as it will keep the block from stretching as you push against it with your cutting tool.
