This is a new material that closely resembles the carving qualities of the original (good!) Mystery Material. The carving feel is very firm and it has an extremely smooth surface. One difference is that the surface is shiny and tends to resist ink just a little bit at first. A light sanding with 600 grit sandpaper will quickly remove that sheen (which will be fixed in the next batch coming off the presses). Some people have used manicure buffers to remove the sheen, too.
Anything that is fine grained will do. I have tested it without
removing the sheen and still get a decent print, but it's better if you
do take the shine down a notch or two. :)Size: 5.75" X 9" X .27"
